Fun In The Sun

We've had another glorious day of sunshine here in the UK and luckily for me I found the key to the other window in my studio! Phew! :) So to celebrate this amazing weather I thought I would show this piece I designed which I'm calling "fun in the sun!" Hope you are having fun in the sun wherever you are!

Summer's Here To stay

Hello! Apparently today was the hottest day we've had in the UK for three years! I was roasting upstairs in my studio because I couldn't find the key to open one of the windows! :(
Today I thought I would share a sweet little floral design with you. I designed it for a client a while back to be a Mother's Day gift wrap. Hope you like it!
Must dash now as I'm desperate to watch the end of the Andy Murray tennis match! Please win Andy.....................

Here's A Bit About Me

Hello everyone! How are we? I'm so glad it's Friday- think I'll have to have an early night tonight- I'm feeling the need to watch a film in bed and just veg. out. I'm also pleased to say that I have finally got my "To-Do-List Monster" under control!! (well for now anyway) Grrrrrrrrrrrr

I discovered this week that I had been tagged by the lovely Karen of Blueberry Park! Thanks, Karen! :-) Check out Karen's lovely shop - in fact I just bought something from there myself :)

So Here are the rules:

1. Respond and rework: Answer the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your invention, add one more question of your own.

2. Tag eight other people.

Here goes...............

What is your current obsession? Painting! I've just started again after a 10 year gap, so I'm a bit rusty- but I find it so therapuetic :)

Coffee or tea? Definitely Coffee - but most of the time I have to drink decaf because otherwise I go a bit hyper!

What’s for dinner? Chili Con Carne- YUM!

What would you eat for your last meal? Oh that's sooo0 hard! Right now I'd say a selection of cheeses and biscuits and then as much cake and chocolate as I could get in!

What was the last thing you bought? ring from Blueberry Park

What are you listening to right now? The Low Anthem. I saw them live this week and can't stop listening to their albums.

What is your favourite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe? My green short sleeve cardigan from Top Shop.

What is your favourite ice cream flavour? Ben & Jerry's Phish Food. (Same as Karen's)  My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

What do you think of the person(s) who tagged you? She's a lovely, talented lady

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
Anywhere in the world? That's a tough question! I'd love to visit Lake Garda in Italy- I think that would be a lovely place to stroll around for an hour.

Which language do you want to learn? Definitely French- terrible really as that's my father's first language! I know pigeon French but would love to be fluent.

What is your favourite colour? Racing green

What is your dream job? I'd LOVE to be able to make a living selling my artwork- I recently left my job to start out on my own- wish me luck! :)

What is your worst habit? Spending far too long on the internet when I should be working! You could also call that procrastinating I suppose!!

If you had £100 now, what would you spend it on? Clothes! Haven't been shopping for ages :(

What book are you currently reading? Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth (for the second time)

Describe your personal style? Definitely casual and comfortable and I try to find clothes that are a little bit different/quirky.

What are you going to do after this? Have lunch whilst watching a bit of Wimbledon

What are your favourite movies? Sideways, Shawshank Redemption, Stranger Than Fiction and Slumdog Millionaire

What is your favourite fruit? Mango- especially dried Mango

What inspires you? Pretty much everything around me!

Do you collect something? I am a hoarder for crafty bits! I would also love to collect bunnies but Phil won't let me have more than two! lol

If you could change your name to anything, what would you call yourself? I like Mia or Kaila

What is your favourite smell? On a hot day, the smell of hot concrete after it's just rained.

What are you most proud of? Finally having the courage to fulfill a dream, leave my job and go it alone!

How many times do you press the snooze button before you get up? Endlessly! I am not a morning person.

Cats or dogs? Dogs.

What’s your biggest fashion mistake? Nearly everything I wore in the 80's! Cringe!

What is your guilty TV pleasure? Secret Millionaire or Dragons Den.

What did you want to be when you grew up? First of all a vet and then a photographer- photography is still one of my passions.

What is your biggest regret? I try not to have regrets (easier said than done I know) but I think everything happens for a reason and I read a great quote once which I find comforting: "A life without regrets, is like no life at all"

Thanks for reading. Hope it's been fun and look forward to reading about YOU!

Before I go I also wanted to say a big thank you to my fellow Etsians who very kindly voted for my blog in the Dorset Cereal Awards. Thanks so, so much guys- I really appreciate it and was blown away by all the support I got :D
The list below are the names of everyone who voted for me, so if you fancy doing a spot of shopping on Etsy this afternoon if you click on their names it will take you straight to their shops :)
Wow! This has got to be my longest post ever! Have a wonderful weekend everyone :) See you soon x

Drawings From France

Hello all! Once again I'm sorry to say, I have been attacked by the nasty To-Do-List monster! It's gone a bit crazy around here so I don't think I will be back blogging again until Friday :( But before I love you and leave you I thought I would share one of my characters that I drew whilst in France. I haven't thought of a name yet for this little fellow but I think he's a sweetie and I really enjoyed using my water colour inks again. You guys are the first to see this ACEO original, so if you have taken a liking to this little rabbit and want to give him a home send me an email and I won't list him in my shop :)
Have a great week everyone and I'll see you Friday.

Pecanpals!

I just had to share these little chaps with you today! I found Noferin through Willy-Nilly Waterlily's blog (whose work you will adore as well). Aren't these little Pecanpals fantastic? You cannot not smile when you see them. Noferin belongs to husband and wife, Nick and Candy who are a very talented couple indeed. If you want to find out more about them click here.
Now must dash because between you and me I'm still meant to be working!
Have a great evening/day wherever you are :)

Janet Bolton

Hello! Hope everyone had lovely weekends in the sunshine?

Today I wanted to share another of my favourite artists with you that I'm hoping you will like (especially you Jacqueline) :)

Janet Bolton decided early on in her career that she wanted to create pictures in exactly the way as if she would using paint, but using fabric instead, and to work mainly by hand. The result? Beautiful works of art! I find them an absolute joy to look at and hope you do to!

One Bunny & a Bee

Hello all! Very glad it's Friday- I slept terribly last night and as a consequence haven't been very productive today. I also had to take poor Millie to the vets again as her tooth infection has come back :( Fingers crossed I've caught it early enough for the antibiotics to get rid of the infection once and for all.

I do have a design to show you today though! A thank you card which is part of my Where's Rabbit? Range. I think this card should be sold as a Thank You pack of 4 or 6 though don't you?
I hope you like it and that you have a great weekend- it's only 8pm here in the UK but I'm off to get ready for bed and have an early night!

See you all next week  x

A Day Of Allsorts!

Hello there! Well I did want to write a more interesting blog post today but the day has just run away from me I'm afraid. This morning I was teaching computer graphics at a clients house and got totally lost on route to my destination, so I was half an hour late :( I downloaded directions off the internet only to find that the road I was meant to be on didn't appear to exist! Then, when I did get home my poor neighbour rang me for help as she had badly hurt her back, so I drove her to the Osteopath and then babysat her two year old whilst she received the treatment. Poor Sarah- lets all send her some get well vibes over the internet so she gets better quickly. I've also been desperate to finish card number 39 since I got back from my holiday, so I thought I should try to finish that in the last few hours of the day.

I'm off now to eat my supper but I wanted to leave you with a great BIG thank you to everyone who has entered my Giveaway so far. I absolutely loved reading about all your holidays- I came over all nostalgic, oh how I would love to go traveling again................I can honestly say that it was the most amazing experience I have ever had :)

Bonjour!

Hello everyone! How are you all? I missed you! Phil and I had a lovely holiday in the South of France- a very relaxing week and it was just what we needed :) We spent most of our time on the beach with an occasional stroll into the pretty town of Antibes where we visited the wonderful Picasso Museum. I did quite a lot of sketching whilst I was away which I hope to share with you soon and above are some of the photos I took.

And of course I haven't forgotten my Giveaway! This months Giveaway is one of my Chiff Chaff prints and if you would like to enter all you need to do is leave a comment below and perhaps share where your most favourite holiday has been? It may inspire our next trip! I'll be announcing the winner next Monday at 7pm GMT. Good luck everyone!
